SIZE MATTERS: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PENIS SIZE

It's time for some serious truth telling. We are a culture obsessed with size. We super size our fast food, cars, trucks and even people. AT&T's ad campaign says it best: Bigger is better. Somehow this "subtle" message has seeped into our consciousness and even our bedrooms. So much so that the average man is actually quite insecure about his size. And it makes sense; who wouldn't be insecure in a society where penis size equals the some total of his entire identity as a man? Have mercy on the poor soul who dares to please a woman with less than five inches.
So how do men really feel about size?
According to the Guide to Getting It On, men not only worry about what women think about their penis size, but also what other men think. The Guide found that when they asked men about their level of comfort being naked in locker rooms, the majority responded with a comment about penis size despite the fact that the words "penis" and "size" were never mentioned in the question.
The Guide also reports that men, even into adulthood, check out other men's sizes for comparison. They cite one study, where a group of Ph.D. students studied men in public restrooms to see if guys checked each other out while peeing. The study found that most men made an attempt to look at the penis of the man next to him while peeing. Even more, the men, who were blessed with a bit more down there, made it their duty to show off their monster-sized penises to the other men peeing around them. Pretty ridiculous what goes on in public bathrooms out there! But, it's actually pretty normal for people of the same sex to compare themselves to each other.
So, what is normal?
According to Sexuality Now by Janell Carroll, the average flaccid penis measures between three and four inches. The average erect penis is around 6 inches. Gary Griffen, author of Penis Size and Enlargement, found that only 15 percent of men worldwide measure above 7 inches. Fewer than 5,000 men (globally) measure at 12 inches or more. The largest on record belongs to Jonah Falcon measuring in at a whopping 13.5 inches erect. So, for those who do hang at 7 inches or more, consider yourself a member of the chosen few. For those walking around with the coveted knee-knocker, they can thank their father as penis size is a hereditary trait that correlates with the father's side.
Regardless of size, one thing is clear: Size does not equal skill nor pleasure. A man with 5 or 6 inches can do just as well as a man who has to swing his penis over his shoulder to get his pants on.
The not-so-normal side of things
There is a condition called "micropenis," where the adult male penis measures at 2.8 inches or less. Those with micropenis may have infertility problems, low sperm count, difficulty urinating and difficulty with sexual intercourse. Typically, the micropenis results from a lack of sufficient testosterone during fetal development. Treatment includes surgical elongation and testosterone therapy.
In all, most men fall within the average length and should feel pretty "normal" about their precious package. All things considered, we should probably spend more time focusing on the person carrying the penis rather than whether or not his penis falls into the 15 percent or less crowd.
